Prostejov Challenger: Four out of 5 seeds crash out in the quarterfinals.

The Unicredit Czech Open 2013, currently underway in Prostejov, Czech Republic witnessed too many upsets in the round of 8 as Lukas Rosol, Jan Hajek, Albert Montanes, Albert Ramos were shown the door.

In the first match of the day, Jiri Vesely, ranked #127 in the world, took out Lukas Rosol 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 to reach the semifinals.

It was a close match which could have gone anybody's way. But it was Vesely, who held his nerves to mark an upset.

Up next, Peter Gojowczyk, places at #179 in the ATP rankings, stunned Albert Ramos, seeded sixth for the tournament 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 to book his place into the last four.

Local favourite - Radek Stepanek, who got a wild card for the tournament, made short work of fourth seed Albert Montanes 6-3, 6-4 to storm into the semi finals.

In the last match of the day, Teymuraz Gabishvili saw off Eighth seed Jan Hajek 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets.

Those players who booked themselves a semifinal spot, have assured themselves €5375 and 45 ATP ranking points.
