Paes/Melzer crash out of French Open.

Indian men's doubles team are really struggling these days. Leander Paes and Jürgen Melzer failed to prove this wrong as they have been ousted from the French Open 2013.

Leander Paes and Jürgen Melzer, seeded ninth for the tournament, lost a thrilling tie to the unseeded duo of Pablo Cuevas and Horacio Zeballos 7-5, 4-6, 6-7 in the second round.

Paes and Melzer started off on a high as they bagged the first set 7-5 in 39 minutes. The scoreline of the first set  was evident of the face that their opponents were promising players.

Zeballos and Cuevas broke their counterparts initially in the first set, and maintained the lead throughout to take the second set 6-4 in 38 minutes to throw the match into the decider.

In the decisive set, both the teams looked confident and were in no mood to leak away the match, following which the third set was thrown into the tie-breaker at 6-6. Paes and Melzer took early lead into the tie-breaker but failed to convert it into victory. Zeballos and Cuevas managed to seal the tie-breaker 8-6 and ultimately caused a major upset in men's doubles category.

The All Indian Tennis Association (AITA) needs to make certain amendments in the doubles team formation as our teams are really struggling these days.
