Marburg to host the lone Challenger event this week!

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) will field only one Challenger tournament this week as most of the players are preparing for the prestigious Wimbledon Championships 2013, which gets underway on Monday.

Called as the Marburg Open 2013, the red clay tournament will be played from June 24-30 in Marburg, Germany. The tournament offers €30,000 to its participants.

Veteran Spanish Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo spearheads the 32-member draw of the men's singles category. The 35-year-old, who has had the career-high rank of #50, will square-off against Argentine Renzo Olivo in the first round.

World #137 Sebastian Diego Schwartzman of Argentina has been seeded second and will face a qualifier in the opening round.

Paul Capdeville, who has been seeded third for the tournament, will open his campaign against Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan.

Fourth-seeded German Simon Gruel, is scheduled to meet a qualifier, for a place in the last-16 stage.

Fifth-seed Frenchman Josselin Ouanna, currently ranked #162 in the world rankings, will charge up against Maximo Gonzalez of Argentina in the opener.

The other seeds include - [6] Jesse Huta Galung, [7] Andrej Martin and [8] Andrey Golubev.

The winner of this tournament will be rewarded with 80 ATP ranking points and €4300 while the runner-up earns 48 ATP ranking points along with €2500.
